The use of lime plaster dates back to the end of the 8th Millennium BC, and the fact that artifacts made from it still exist today speaks to its durability and longevity. Venetian plaster is not a painted-on faux finish. It's genuine Italian limestone mixed with fine Carrara marble aggregate, applied in thin layers and burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture. When light reflects off the finish, it enriches the colours and brings organic warmth to the wall; a result that only improves with age.
